Renowned Hong Kong roastery Kam’s Roast is launching a limited edition dish – the Crispy Pipa Chicken! Available only until 30 November 2022, the chicken features a prized ingredient from Guangzhou, China.
Kam’s Roast Special Roast Chicken
The ingredient in question is a 23-year-old aged chenpi, or orange peel. Dubbed one of Guangzhou’s 3 Treasures, the aged chenpi lends its flavour to a marinade for the chicken. It’s braised for one hour before being quickly roasted for 20 minutes to achieve a crisp, paper-like skin but a juicy inside.
The Crispy Pipa Chicken ($48.80) is inspired by the Hong Kong-style Pipa duck, now a hard-to-find delicacy. Kam’s Roast also incorporates a secret ingredient mix from the family of the founder Hong Kong’s Yung Kee Restaurant, Mr. Kam Shui Fai – so you can taste the brand’s heritage and history.
The Crispy Pipa Chicken will be available only at Kam’s Roast Jewel only until 30 November 2022 and is available in limited quantities. You will need to order it one day in advance (before 4 pm). Call in via 6513 3718 to place your orders!
