Haidilao Launches New Menu Items Including Mala Milk Soup Base & Waterfall Potato Strings

Popular hotpot restaurant chain Haidilao is about to make your dining experience even more exciting with 10 new items, from soup base to dishes, desserts, and beverages.

New Haidilao Soup Base

The newest soup base to hit Haidilao is the Mala Milk Broth, which sees their popular signature mala broth paired with milk. The combination of milk and mala results in a creamy soup base, and a drinkable mala soup!

This is especially great for diners who can’t really take mala and want to try it because the spiciness is brought down thanks to the addition of milk. We highly recommend the creamy, savoury broth which is a must-try when you visit Haidilao next time!

New Dishes at Haidilao

To go along with the new broth are 6 new menu items.

If you’re a fan of the prawn paste at Haidilao, good news! The popular dish has been given an upgrade, with the paste featuring a generous topping of fish roe and more chunks of fresh prawn! The overall texture feels more improved and enjoyable!

There is also the Low-Fat Low-Cal Konjac Slices and the texture reminded us of Beef Stomach! It’s a great go-to option for those who are on a healthy diet. Fun fact, konjac helps to improve digestion and regulate blood pressure. If you love chewy noodles, you’ll also love the Sweet Potato Noodles, which was one of the widest cuts we’ve had to date, helping to soak up all the flavourful broth.

New on the menu is also the Waterfall Potato Strings, which is served in a huge pile and takes only 8 seconds to cook! If you prefer your potato to be softer, we recommend leaving it for a longer time, but that does risk it being brittle and breaking. 8 secs provide the best crisp and crunchy texture!

For beef lovers, there’s a new Sichuan Pepperfect Beef Tongue, where it’s marinated in aromatic Sichuan peppercorn oil. The numbness really hits when you bite into the cut.

Lastly, there’s the Beef in Milk Bath, which sees cubes of Wagyu beef served in a bed of milk.

Dessert and Drinks

Finish the meal with the Brown Sugar Lava Rice Cake, which comes in a cute tubular shape filled with an oozing brown sugar filling.

For drinks, Haidilao is introducing 2 new bubbly sodas, the Fizzy Strawberry Pop and Fizzy Sour Plum Pop. We tried the latter, which had a balance of sweet and sour flavours, but could have been fizzier.

These new menu offerings will be available from 10 Feb 2023, at all Haidilao outlets in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
