Casinos, Murder And A Dangerous Wager: New Korean Drama Big Bet Is Now Streaming On Disney+

How much are you willing to stake on your odds? Big Bet, a new Korean drama with elements of mystery and action, explores this question through the gripping story of a world-renowned casino mogul.

Big Bet: A Brief Summary

The show follows the life of Cha Moosik (Choi Minsik), a man famous for building one of the largest casino chains in the Philippines. He has a rags-to-riches story – coming from a poor and unstable family background, he built his empire through his wits paired with a neverending desire.

His life is turned upside down when he is arrested on the grounds of murder and is pursued by Oh Seunghoon (Son Sukku), the first Korean officer in the Philippines police force. In the process of clearing his name, Cha Moosik interacts with a number of colourful characters – including his right-hand man Jung-Pal (Lee Donghwi) and gangster Seo Tae-Seok (Heo Sungtae) – that impact his journey.

A Cast Of Veteran Actors

Big Bet has a star-studded cast, with many being seasoned actors in the industry. Choi Minsik himself is making his first television appearance in almost 26 years, but you might recognise him from the famous Korean movies Oldboy and I Saw The Devil.

Their characters are complex but unique and each plays an interesting role in shaping the events that affect Cha Moosik’s life.

Without spoiling anything else, Big Bet is worth the watch and is now available for streaming on Disney+!
