Tiong Bahru Bakery is probably a household name among Singaporeans, a popular cafe to go for freshly baked croissants, bakes, and coffee. Surprisingly, the brand’s newest outlet in Siglap is their very first outlet in the East, making it more accessible for Easties.
Located along the same stretch as Bloom Coffee, the Tiong Bahru Bakery Siglap outlet is biscuit-inspired, so you’ll find lots of biscuit-themed designs and interior, such as biscuit-shaped lights and an adorable biscuit-shaped signboard.
Along with the new store are also their classic authentic artisan French bakes such as their award-winning croissants, Kouign Amann, sourdough breads, and artisanal coffee. There’s also a refreshing line of exciting and delicious offerings on the menu, such as the Siglap exclusive, Your Royal Ryeness Milkshake ($9.50).
A creatively concocted decadent sourdough beverage made with cold brew syrup from Common Man Coffee Roasters, the drink is a refreshing treat on a hot day!
Other treats also include the Egg Mayo and Smoked Salmon Pain Feuilleté ($11) which features a hearty housemade egg-mayo, smoked salmon spread, and Tsukemono cucumber sandwiched between flaky laminated bread. Our favourite part was definitely the buttery pastry!
We also tried the Curried Chicken Rillette and Mango-Chilli Sandwich ($11), a delectable sub filled with curried chicken rillette, tangy mango-chilli sauce, arugula, red onion pickles, and piquillo peppers encased in a soft bun. There’s also another version, which is the Chicken Rillette and Tarragon Mustard Sandwich ($11) which is a classic French rendition of creamy chicken rillette.
Wash it down with the Black Sesame Oat Latte ($6.20), which is a comforting drink with nutty tones and perfect for black sesame lovers.
