Red Bean and Cream Choco Pie Review: New Choco Pie Flavour From Korea

Choco pies are probably one of Korea’s most representative snacks. One of the most well-known brands of Choco pie is Orion, who previously released the Injeolmi and Black Sesame Choco Pies. They’ve recently released the Red Bean and Cream Choco Pie.

What is a Choco Pie?

A quick refreshment: A classic choco pie is basically a snack cake consisting of 2 round cakes with some marshmallow filling and a chocolate covering.

For their 45th anniversary, they released new flavours such as Injeolmi and Black Sesame. Other flavours include Banana, Red Velvet and Green Tea.

The Latest Choco Pie Flavour from Korea

Korea Red Bean Cream Choco Pie

The 앙크림, Red Bean and Cream Choco Pie comes in a box of 12 individually packed chocopies.

Instead of the usual chocolate covering, the red bean choco pie is covered in a layer of red bean chocolate. In the middle, there is a mixture of red bean paste with cream hidden within the marshmallow.

There’s also a thin layer of rice cake, which is a standard for their Chal Chocopie series.

Red Bean Cream Choco Pie Review

Personally, the red bean taste wasn’t really strong and did not really stand out amongst the marshmallow and chocolate sweetness. If you’re a red bean fan, you would probably be dissatisfied.

However, if you’re just eating this or getting it for friends, it’s could be a more unique option compared to the usual chocopie since it does have slight whiffs of red bean.

The rice cake really added to the chewiness of the entire choco pie which we really liked.

Where to Get Red Bean Cream Choco Pie?

The red bean chocopie can easily be purchased from Shopee so there’s no need for you to go all the way to Korea to get it. (not like we can head to Korea and buy it ourselves anyway, thanks Covid-19 😢)

If you’re a first-time Shopee user, you can enjoy $7 off with a minimum spend of $15 from now till 30 April 2021 using the code ‘SHOPEEXMDC’.
