Queic by Olivia: Cafe Specializing in Cheesecakes, Basque Burnt Cheesecake A Must-Try

From the people behind Olivia Restaurant, Queic by Olivia is a new cafe near outram park specializing in all things cheesecake. Yes, you read that right – a place dedicated to cheesecake.

A Burst of Yellow and Brown

Located along Kreta Ayer Road, the space is decked in cheesecake-themed colours and decorated in tiles. The use of tiles reminded us of the tables you see in void decks.

There isn’t much seating here, with only 4 tables and 5 benches near the entrance of the store. After all, the place mainly acts as one where you can conveniently get their bakes to-go.

Menu at Queic by Olivia

Specializing in cheesecakes, you can find an array of cheesecake items here such as New York Cheesecake (Slice $10, 6” $45, 9” $74) and Idiazabal Cheesecake (Slice $10, 6” $45, 9” $74).

They also serve simple drinks such as Long Black/Americano ($5), Cappuccino Latte ($6), Tea, and Soft Drinks.

Olivia Burnt Cheesecake

The representative item from queic by Olivia has got to be the Olivia Burnt Cheesecake (4” $15, 6” $48, 9” $78).

Unlike your usual cheesecakes, this one looks and feels more like a tart instead. We’re not complaining since we loved how crunchy and buttery the almond sable base was. Once you cut into it, you get a molten and gooey texture from the cheese.

We don’t usually go for cheesecakes, but the Olivia Burn Cheesecake is something we would gladly eat again. A nice balance of sweet and savoury flavours, with the salty cheese flavours really standing out in each bite.

They also have a chocolate version of this, which is the Olivia Chocolate Cheesecake (4” $17, 6” $52, 9” $82)

Gateau Basque

The only non-cheese item here is the Gateau Basque (Slice $10, 6” $40) which was buttery and had strong hints of almond. Since we had a cup of coffee, the staff recommended this as it went well with the coffee. Texture-wise, it was crumbly with the center being slightly custard-like.

Cheesecake Specialty Cafe in Singapore

Fans of Chef Olivia’s cheesecake can now easily get access to their signature desserts any time of the week with Queic. Since the place is rather small, we would recommend anyone who wants to try the cheesecakes to have it to-go to avoid any disappointment.

If you’re willing to wait, we’re sure the burnt cheesecake will be worth the wait.
