Experience Aussie In SG With The Melbourne Brunch Festival Happening Till 31st July

Singapore’s first-ever Melbourne Brunch Festival is happening from 1st to 31st July with eleven handpicked restaurants in Singapore showcasing the best of Victorian produce with specially curated brunch menus featuring delectable food and drinks.

When it comes to Melbourne, cafes and brunch are probably a few of the terms associated with Victoria’s capital. Did you know that the state is Australia’s largest dairy-producing and exporting state, the largest producer of vegetables such as mushrooms, asparagus, and broccoli, with world-renowned premium quality beef products.

Here are all the 11 participating restaurants and the special Melbourne Brunch Festival menu items you can find at each spot:

Café Natsu

This cafe in Joo Chiat will be serving items like Buckwheat Granola with Seasonal Fruits & Yuzu ($16++) featuring Sahara Yoghurt, Muscat Grapes & Yuzu Curd. There will also be Cereal Crusted French Toast ($22++) with Victorian Seasonal Fruits & Almond Ice-Cream. Bite into their Wagyu Beef Sando ($26++) featuring Jack’s Creek Shortrib or the Wagyu Burger ($28++) featuring Blackmore’s Wagyu Beef Mince.

Club Street Wine Room

Featuring beef from Bass Strait, which boasts the world’s best latitude for grass-fed beef, you can indulge in items that highlight the 100% grass-fed beef through the Bass Strait Beef Tartare ($16++/2 pieces) with Scallop Toast or their Club Street Sandwich ($36++).

Meatsmith Little India

Over at Meatsmith Little India, dig into the Trout Roe Papadum ($14++) which features Yarra Valley Trout Roe! There is also a Marinated Goat’s Cheese Salad ($20++) which uses the Meredith Dairy Goat’s Cheese. They also have wines such as The Last Plot Rose 2019 ($90++) and Bass Phillip ‘Estate’ Chardonnay 2019 ($200++).

PUNCH

At PUNCH, their brunch menu items feature a signature Aussie product – vegemite! You’ll find this in the Dean’s Breakfast ($18++) and Humpty Dumpty ($10++). You can also pair your brunch with a cup of Genovese Coffee ($5.50++).

Symmetry

Symmetry will feature Victorian produce such as Coolibah Herbs Baby Spinach, Black Swan Hummus, Midfield Meat Wagyu Beef, Adams Farm Brussels Sprouts, Emporium Triple Cream Brie & more!

Menu items include Green Goddess Salad ($26++), Minute Steak and Eggs ($24++), Chicken & Kale Schnitzel ($27++), Triple Cream Brie Toastie ($24++) and cocktails using Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin & Coldstream Chandon.

Terra Madre

Tucked away in the Dempsey area, Terra Madre is an organic store with products sourced from Australia/New Zealand and a natural food restaurant. This one was one of the 11 restaurants participating in the Melbourne Brunch Festival that we managed to try.

Plated beautifully was the Beetroot & Avocado Toast with Macadamia Dukkah ($27++) featuring Victorian Beets & Victorian Macadamias. We loved how the avocado toast had just the right amount of creaminess and zesty flavour from the lemon.

The Corn & Potato Rosti with Charred Baby Carrots ($24++) was also another work of art, with the rosti made from Victorian Red Potatoes. The baby carrots were also naturally sweet, which made the overall dish brighter in terms of both colour and flavour.

If you’re a fan of Lamb, their Lamb Kofta with Feta Labneh and Poached Eggs ($31++) uses MC Herb Wimmera River Grass-fed Lamb paired with Sumac Onions, Davidson’s Plums, Chilli Oil & Parsley.

We washed everything down with a Four Pillars Gin & Peach Ginger Spritz ($22++).

Tess Bar & Kitchen

Here at Tass Bar & Kitchen, you’ll find a 3-course meal ($68++/pax) with items like Oven-Baked Saltbush Cauliflower, Seared Bass Strait Angus Striploin and an interesting Dark Chocolate Tart with Yarra Valley Trout Roe, Toasted Pistachio & Wild Berries. The meal comes with a glass of Sangria and Four Pillars Gin & Tonic.

The Kongsee

Presenting diners a blend of Asian flavours with Victorian produce is The Kongsee, with items such as a Lamb Rack Bun Cha ($21++) using Thomas Farms’ Lamb Denver Rib Meatballs and Royal Victoria Cream Cheese Kaya Churros ($12++) using Royal Victoria Cheese White Cheddar Slice.

Other items include Steak & Eggs ($35++) and Apple, Orange and Pear Martini ($20++).

The Marmalade Pantry

For the Melbourne Brunch Festival in Singapore, The Marmalade Pantry has delicious options and classics such as Avocado Toast ($26++), Corned Beef Quesadilla ($32++), Buttermilk Pancakes ($22++), Roasted Vegetable Tart ($22++) & more!

The Masons Table

Over at The Masons Table, you’ll find a slow-braised lamb dish ($34++) made using Victorian MC Herb Lamb Leg in a Herb & Red Wine Sauce, Brekkie Pizza ($26++) featuring Cured Midfield Beef Sausages & Bacon, Onion, Onsen Egg and Steak Sauce Mozzarella Cheese.

There’s also a sweet option: Mascarpone & Berries ($15++) featuring buttermilk pancakes with berries, berry compote, lemon curd and Montefiore Mascarpone Cheese.

Tolido’s Espresso Nook

Last but not least is Tolido’s Espresso Nook, an Australian-inspired cafe known for its hearty fares and delicious coffee. We tried the Strawberry Fields French Toast ($18++) which featured soft, fluffy egg-coated brioche toast stacked with Montefiore Mascarpone Cheese, Victorian Strawberries, and home-made crumble.

Brunch BAE ($18++) featured fresh slices of Lovacado Avocados, Vegemite, Mozzarella Cheese, poached eggs and bacon on top of nicely toasted farmer’s bread. The result was a creamy explosion with each bite coupled with a tinge of vegemite that elevated the Aussie brunch experience.

Coffee-wise, they have Cafe Con Miel ($6.50++) which is a milk-based espresso drink with Victorian Honey & Cinnamon.
