Kōhī Roastery & Coffee Bar: Hole-in-the-Wall Cafe Located in Crane Joo Chiat

Kohi Roaster & Coffee Bar is from Bangkok, but the brand has expanded to Singapore last year by offering cold brew concentrates for those working from home. They’ve finally found their own physical space over in the East of SG and it’s literally a hole-in-the-wall!

Hidden Coffee Takeaway in Joo Chiat

Occupying a small section of Crane Joo Chiat’s level 1 space, you can spot the cafe by its bright, but small yellow outlined windows. Here’s where you place your order for your coffee.

It’s located near the colourful Peranakan shophouses for easier reference.

The coffee takeaway kiosk makes a good pitstop for you to grab a cuppa before exploring Joo Chiat.

During our visit, we were free to use Crane’s space on the 2nd floor. Crane’s Joo Chiat outlet is set to be their biggest yet, with a restaurant occupying the 1st floor and the 2nd floor filled with multiple aesthetic corners.

Here are some photos of Crane Joo Chiat’s space:

Menu at Kohi Roastery & Coffee Bar

Don’t expect to find items like your Caramel Macchiato here, the menu isn’t too extensive with simple items like White ($6), Black ($5), and Espresso ($4). There’s also Espresso Tonic ($7) and Coco(nut) Xpresso ($7) for sweltering hot days.

The coffee uses a Red Dot Blend, which has hints of tropical fruit, citrus, and black tea.

We opted for the Coco(nut) Xpresso since we needed something refreshing in the 34 deg weather. There was a nice sweetness from the coconut water, which really complimented the espresso shot.

The cafe is currently accepting cash only, on a tip basis, allowing people to taste their coffee before they are fully open.

Crane Joo Chiat Open House

Crane will also be having an open house for their Joo Chiat outlet on the 22nd and 23rd of Jan. There’ll be a CNY Pop Up Marketplace, where you can do some shopping and take a peek at some of their workshops and demos Crane is famous for.
