Horatio: This Speakeasy Bar in Resorts World Sentosa Invites You on an Adventure Across the Globe

You might be surprised, but Horatio is actually Resorts World Sentosa’s first full-fledged bar.

Situated at Crockfords Tower of RWS, you might inadvertently pass by Horatio because from the outside, it simply appears to be a retail shop selling bottles of whisky. However, if you look closer, you’ll discover that while you can buy whisky bottles, you’re also on the verge of stepping into a completely different world.

We won’t reveal how you can access Horatio, but it’s rather simple (hehe).

Inside, you’ll find a dimly lit space perfect for cocktails, with lots of comfy seats apart from the ones you get at the bar. A tip, those seats usually come with the best conversations and stories.

Our first glimpse of Horatio’s signature drinks programme was through their menu, which resembles a traveller’s notebook. The name Horatio is actually inspired by the journeys of Horatio Fairchild, a fictional global traveller who has visited all the great distilling regions of the world.

Inside the menu are 12 different drinks inspired by the various regions of the world, telling the tales of Horatio’s escapades.

One of the regions is none other than Singapore. Kueh Kueh Spirits, a bourbon whisky-based cocktail with elements of gula melaka, coconut, winter melon, calamansi and salted egg yolk. We enjoyed this a lot, as it was very well-balanced.

You’ll get to explore more of Horatio’s journey and meet new characters along the way. The Highland Hermit is a drink that uses scotch blended whisky, which Horatio learned to craft from a mysterious shepherd named Angus when he was stranded in a Highland storm.

One of the drinks that left an impression that night was Dragon’s Breath. Inspired by his travels to China, this slightly herbal concoction uses Cognac, Dry Sherry, Black Dates and even Light Soya Sauce! It’s not for the weak, so tread lightly.

All the cocktails are priced at $26.

If you’re feeling peckish, the bar also offers a variety of food items that go well with your drinks. From a Local Beetroot Croquette with potato salad and aioli, to Wagyu Beef Skewers, Salmon Tacos and even Pan-Fried Italian Sardines, there’s something for everyone.

Apart from cocktails, Horatio is also home to a treasure chest of over 300 rare bottles, such as Macallan The Ranch 81YO, Karuizawa Omoiyari 36YO, Port Ellen 1978 43YO and Brora 1977 45YO.

There’s also a specially purchased and bottled 1988 Macallan cask, uniquely labelled under Resorts World Sentosa.

What we shared is only the tip of the iceberg; there’s much more to discover, and your time here will feel like flicking through a novel. The menu concept is so interesting, and we can’t wait to experience more of Horatio’s travels.
