Crustys Fortune Crabstick Crisps Review: Addictive Snacks Made With DoDo Seafood Treats

After going back to their roots with the Soy Skin Crisps, Crustys continues to introduce new snacks, this time with DoDo Seafood Treats to bring you their latest snack, the Crustys Fortune Crabstick Crisps!

They come in two different flavours, the iconic Salted Egg and Hot & Tangy.

Crustys Fortune Crabstick Crisps Packaging

The first thing that comes to mind when we think of crabstick crisps is definitely Chinese New Year since they often appear as a common snack during the festive period.

But now, you can get these snacks all year long, instead of waiting for CNY to come.

Packaging-wise, they both come in a comfortable 80g size, with a resealable opening so you can slowly enjoy the snack throughout the week. In line with the Fortune concept, they’ve also included random 4 digit numbers that come with quotes.

Ours said, “Sometimes travelling to new places will lead to great transformation”.

Salted Egg Fortune Crabstick Crisps

You’ll get a rich burst of umami flavours from the salted egg before tasting some of the seafood flavours from the crabstick crisp.

Crisps are a great name for this snack since they literally produce a crisp sound upon each bite.

If we were to compare this to the salted egg fish skin that Crustys offers, the crabstick crisps feel a lot less oily.

Hot & Tangy Fortune Crabstick Crisps

True to its name, the first bite of the Hot & Tangy Crabstick Crisps revealed a tangy, bright, mildly sour flavour followed by a slight spiciness.

If you’re thinking along the lines of Tom Yum, you’re wrong because it’s nothing like that. It’s surprisingly addictive and we recommend this for people who find salted egg too heavy.

Where to Get

Crustys Fortune Crabstick Crisps will soon be available exclusively through RedMart. They will also be available at most major retailers such as NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong and Prime supermarket outlets islandwide sometime between the third or fourth week of August.
