Bibimbop: Islandwide Halal Kimbap Delivery With Delicious Gochujang Mayo

Combining her love for Korean food and Korean culture together with her passion for cooking, Ninez started Bibimbop, an online, home-based business selling Kimbap (Korean rice rolls).

Ninez started making Kimbaps a few years back for her family to enjoy and decided to start Bibimbop during the circuit breaker to satisfy her Kimbap cravings as well as those who are missing Korea.

Bibimbop didn’t just happen overnight. It was a combination of studying Youtube tutorial videos, Korean food styling Instagrams, and aesthetic ASMR cooking videos, that resulted in these stunning rolls.

A One-Woman Show

Everything from branding, marketing, preparing ingredients to rolling the kimbaps is handled by Ninez. After prepping the ingredients on a Friday night, she starts her weekends as early as 6 am to make sure the orders go out by 2 pm.

This can definitely be exhausting, which is why Ninez dedicates a one-week break for herself after 4 consecutive weeks of sales, where she can rest and experiment with new ideas and possibly new flavours.

The Gimbap Trio ($23)

We got our hands on the Gimbap Trio from Bibimbop which consisted of the Classic Kimbap, Tuna Kimbap and Beef Bulgogi Kimbap.

They came packaged in a box, with a nice cute Bibimbop logo. The kimbaps were also generously garnished with roasted sesame seeds.

The Classic Kimbap

The classic Kimbap is packed with generous amounts of cucumber, carrots, fried egg, crabsticks, fish cake slices, spinach and pickled radish.

The Tuna Kimbap

Perhaps one of the rolls that triggered some Korea memories. Our go-to triangular kimbap in Korea was the tuna mayo flavoured one, so this brought back some convenience stores memories of Korea.

The Beef Bulgogi Kimbap

We did find the beef bulgogi in the Korean rice roll to be slightly gamey, but it wasn’t that bad when dipped into the gochujang mayo sauce.

Yes, you can get a side of gochujang mayo sauce at $1.50 to dip your kimbaps in. The sauce was really good and paired well with the different kimbap rolls.

How To Order

You can order using the link on Bibimbop’s Instagram page or DM them if you have any enquiries. There are slots for delivery and self pick-up during the weekend. Pre-order opens on Monday.
