99 Old Trees: Durian Specialty Cafe in Outram Park With $1.80 Durian Choux Puffs

Calling all durian lovers! 99 Old Trees has moved from Farrer Park to Outram Park, sporting a brand new look that’s both modern and insta worthy. The space is spacious and has both indoor and alfresco dining areas.

To celebrate their relocation, they have permanently added 2 new desserts to their indulgent menu.

99 Old Trees Relocates To Outram Park

99 Old Trees Staff

From Owen Road to Outram Park, the new 99 Olds Trees outlet is a modern-day, instagrammable durian shop with lush botanical-inspired interiors and photo-worthy backdrops. Seating is quite limited, so do make sure to come early!

While you’re there, make sure to snap a few shots in front of their huge mural featuring their staff picking and selling durians on the side wall.

In case you didn’t know, the desserts are served under their sister-brand called ‘Stinky’. Stinky uses pure durian pulp extracted by themselves to make their famous Stinky desserts. Every dessert is made from scratch in-house daily!

臭臭 (Chou Chou)

No, we’re not talking about that pillow you had since your childhood. If you ever visit 99 Old Trees, keep a lookout for 臭臭, pronounced as chou chou, aka Stinky’s brand mascot. Chosen because of the spikes on its back, 臭臭 is hiding somewhere in the vicinity.

Cheap Durian Choux Puffs in Singapore

The Stinky Bomb was definitely the bomb, both literally and figuratively. Once you take a bite of it, the Mao Shan Wang cream immediately bursts in your mouth, taking you on a creamy, flavourful journey. Crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside, get ready to dig into this and have an enjoyable (but sometimes messy) experience.

It is also affordably priced at only $1.80 per choux puff, however, a minimum purchase of 2 is required.

Every Stinky Bomb is freshly piped, containing around 30g of Mao Shan Wang cream. We loved that the cream had some durian flesh for a change of texture and that the choux pastry was not too sweet to let the Mao Shan Wang flavour shine!

Do note that this scrumptious dessert is only available for walk-ins. For those who prefer to pre-order some durian desserts or order online, there are more Stinky desserts to choose from!

Stinky Roll

Moist and creamy, the Stinky Roll is another new addition to the Stinky family. Available for both walk-ins and pre-order, the Stinky roll can be purchased in quarters for dine-in only at an affordable price of $6.50 or a footlong at $25 for both dine-ins and take-aways.

Stinky Chendul

Spicing up one of Singapore’s famous desserts to beat the heat, Stinky adds a dollop of fresh Mao Shan Wang pulp to the traditional Teochew Chendul.

What’s so special about their chendul? 99 Old Trees make their own cold-pressed coconut milk just for their icy dessert!

Stinky Bowl

For the hardcore durian lovers, you have to give their Stinky Bowl a try! The Stinky Bowl is essentially a cold durian mousse made from 100% Pure D24 durians. We recommend dining in for this dessert because they will add a dollop of fresh Mao Shan Wang pulp on top.

Do not be shocked by the portion for the price of $5.50 (regular) as the dessert packs a punch. Rich in flavour and paired with creamy pulp, one portion is more than enough for one! For those who want more pulp, 99 Old Trees has an option of an additional shot of durian for $2 only.

Stinky Ice Cream

For those who want a durian treat from time to time, the Stinky Pints are for you! Priced at $28 per pint and $54 for 2, each pint contains the pulp of 2 Mao Shan Wang durians. Can you believe it?

Beat The Heatiness

The excessive heatiness is no doubt a concern for durian aficionados and 99 Old Trees knows how to counter it. Cooling water, various hot/iced Chinese teas, and fresh coconut water are conveniently available for purchase to pair with your Stinky desserts!
