PlusEightTwo is a cafe near Dhoby Ghaut MRT opened by BTOB’s Eunkwang. It is also a space that plays host to many events organised by K-pop fans in Singapore. The cafe used to serve only simple desserts and drinks but this has changed with the launch of 82Bunsik.

What is Bunsik?
For those who are unfamiliar with the term, 분식 (Bunsik) literally means food made from flour. The term is also used to refer to inexpensive Korean dishes. This includes food items such as Tteokbokki, Kimbab and more.
82Bunsik Menu
While kimbab may be unavailable here, items such as Jjajang Tteokbokki, Tuna Rice Balls can be found here. The classic Tteokbokki is also available, alongside Korean Hot Dogs and other items.
We Tried Some Items From 82Bunsik
You’re required to place an order before you get a seat so make sure you know what you want before heading down. Here are some of the items we tried:
Tteokbokki
Classic street food from Korea. The tteokbokki ($12) at +82 Bunsik was slightly sweeter compared to the ones we had in Korea. The sauce had a tomato-ish taste, but the spiciness built up with every bite. The fish cakes were chewy and soaked up all the tteokbokki sauce.
Those who can’t take spiciness would appreciate this, but we prefer our tteokbokki with a little more red pepper paste, aka gochujang.
Can we also say how cute the plates are? They remind us of some bunsik places in Korea!
Jjajang Ramyeon
The Jjajang Ramyeon ($7.9) came with a sunny side up, some jjajang sauce and noodles. There was something really familiar about this dish that made us kept going for a second bite.
The dish smells really good, but in terms of jjajang taste, it definitely can’t compare to those black bean noodles sold in restaurants. Maybe try the Jjajang Tteokbokki instead.
Tuna Mayo Rice
A simple dish, but the Tuna Mayo Rice ($10) was our favourite from the lot. Who knew rice with seaweed flakes and tuna could taste so good? While you can enjoy it just like that, we highly recommend making some rice balls.
The warm rice paired with mayonnaise, savoury sesame oil, tuna flakes and seaweed flakes tasted almost homely. You can dip this in the tteokbokki sauce to enjoy it as well.
Korean Hot Dogs
When picking up your order, the staff will ask if you want sugar and tomato sauce for your hot dog. Make sure you say yes!
There are two kinds of hotdogs here. There’s a classic one ($5) with just a plain hotdog inside, and the Mozza Hotdog ($6) with a stick of cheese and half a hotdog inside. Go for the Mozza version because it’s like a 2-in-1 hotdog!
While we found the layer of bread slightly thick, we fell in love with the crispy texture. The sugar paired surprisingly well with the hot dog, making it a sweet and salty snack. It’s definitely a playful snack and kids would love this!
