Ramyun Library: More Than 100 Types Of Ramyeon At This CU Convenience Store in Hongdae, Seoul

You’re probably no stranger to Korean ramyeon, with brands like Shin Ramyun and Buldak taking the world by storm. These brands can be seen even in general supermarkets and Western countries. But apart from the usual few brands, there’s a whole world of Ramyeon to be explored and the Ramyun Library in Hongdae is the perfect place to do just that.

Korean Instant Noodle Heaven

Ramyun Library is located in a CU convenience store in Hongdae, Seoul, and features over 100 types of Ramyeon, with some overseas selections available as well.

While the entrance looks just like any other CU convenience store, the Ramyun Library area features a huge wall packed with a variety of ramyeon.

At this library, you’ll be able to spot the Top 5 ranked ramyeon, alongside a short description of the noodles and a very helpful spice level chart for each ramyeon. Ranging from Mild to Hell, the spice level does differ from ramyeon to ramyeon.

Fun fact: the No.1 ranked Ramyeon here is not Shin Ramyeon!

How the Ramyun Library works is very much like those places located along the Han River. You pick your choice of ramyeon, and they’ll offer you a special bowl that you can cook in.

Head over to one of the many ramyeon-cooking machines and scan the barcode on the bowl, and the machine automatically knows how much to dispense and how long to cook it for.

Displayed on the tables are also cute infographics on recommended recipes for you to fully enjoy your Ramyeon. You can add in items like eggs, canned tuna, sausages, or even sliced cheese.

Because of this, the selection of food and ingredients here seemed to be even more diverse. I mean, just look at the types of sausages on display! Eggs are also sold individually which makes them perfect for your bowl of ramyeon.

Overall, the Ramyun Library is a great place for anyone wanting to experience a slice of Korea’s ramyeon culture. The selection here is diverse and the location is accessible, especially if you’re staying in Hongdae during your trip.
