Baedal Minjok (배달의민족) is one of the top food delivery services in South Korea. Apart from food deliveries, they also have an online mart where you can get almost anything from fresh vegetables to frozen foods.

Recently, they launched an entire range of products on their online mart for you to make an unbelievable green-coloured fried chicken.

When we say green-coloured chicken, we really meant green.

For starters, there are 3 different flavoured chickens that you can learn to make using ingredients available for sale on their online mall: Mint Chocolate Chicken, Cucumber Chicken and a Green Monster Chicken.

Mint Chocolate Chicken

To make the mint chocolate chicken, you have to first prepare the green coloured batter using a powder that is available for purchase on their online mart. Upon adding water, it produces an almost neon-green coloured batter. The chicken is then marinated in the batter, deep-fried and mixed with a mint chocolate sauce with chocolate chips.

According to the product information section, the Mint Chocolate Chicken is sweet and refreshing at the same time.

1kg of the Mint Chocolate Sauce is retailing at 6,200won, which is roughly about $7.50 SGD. 1kg of powder used for the batter costs 4,350won (~$5 SGD)

The cucumber chicken is also made by marinating the chicken in an almost neon-green batter and deep-fried. The fried chicken is then mixed together with sliced pickles, cucumbers and the cucumber chicken sauce.

The cucumber chicken sauce is slightly cheaper, going at 6,000won for 1kg.

Judging from the ingredients used in the Green Monster sauce, it seems like a relatively normal sauce with garlic powder, roasted garlic oil etc.

However, the recipe calls for a garnish of popping candy for a play of textures. This sauce is the most expensive out of the 3, retailing at a price of 6,400won.

Fried Chicken Perfect For Halloween

While we are unsure if this is going to be a permanent addition to Baedal Minjuk’s online mart, it sure does look like a Halloween special. Will people be willing to purchase the powder and make their own green coloured fried chicken?

Only available in Korea via Baedal Minjuk’s online mart.
