The holiday season calls for travel and/or a day spent at home binging your favourite dramas. We’re here to help you decide which Korean dramas to watch!

Here are 5 Korean dramas to catch on Disney+

Light Shop

Light Shop (조명가게) is an adaption of a popular webtoon of the same name, featuring a talented cast including Ju Ji Hoon and Park Bo Young.

The mystery-soft horror drama follows a group of people haunted by their past, intertwined by fate at a dubious light shop helmed by a mysterious shopkeeper Jung Wonyoung (Ju Ji Hoon).

The storylines involve life and death; past and present, showing how the characters cope with their losses.

If you enjoy a deeper, angsty storyline, Light Shop is a good candidate! It’s currently ongoing with four of eight episodes available.

Gangnam B-Side

For a crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seats, catch Gangnam B-side (강남 비-사이드).

When his daughter’s friend goes missing, demoted police officer Kang Dong-woo ventures into the underbelly of Gangnam’s underworld to investigate.

He navigates the dangerous lines of vice, narcotics and corruption to unearth a plot that threatens to bring down the most powerful people in the city.

The main cast includes Jo Woojin, Ji Changwook and Ha Yoon Kyung, with singer BiBi (Kim Hyeong-seo) as the missing girl in question.

All eight episodes of Gangnam B-side are out on Disney+.

Love Your Enemy

Fancy a little enemies-to-lovers plot? Love Your Enemy (사랑은 외나무다리에서) follows high school rivals Kwon Ji Won and Yoon Ji Won after an 18-year reunion, which sparks an unexpected romance.

The funny story is underlined by family feuds and the two main characters’ clashing personalities, creating entertaining interactions.

Ju Ji Hoon and Jung Yu-Mi take the two title roles, supported by Kim Ye Won, Lee Si Woo and other talented cast.

Love Your Enemy is an ongoing drama, with six of 12 episodes currently available.

Connect

Connect (커넥트) was released in 2022 but poses a unique premise!

Directed by famed Japanese director Takashi Miike, the psychological thriller K-drama follows Ha Dong-soo, a man who has a mysterious regenerative ability.

A human trafficking organisation kidnaps him but he escapes, missing one eye. He discovers he’s retained sight in the removed eye – which has been implanted into the body of a serial killer.

Jung Haein and Go Kyungpyo star as the protagonist and antagonist respectively.

All six episodes of Connect are available on Disney+.

Soundtrack #1

Two best friends of 20 years – a rookie photographer and a lyricist trying to get by – stay together in the same house for 2 weeks. What could happen?

Park Hyung-sik and Han So Hee star in Soundtrack #1 (사운드트랙#1), a slow-burn romance with plenty of heart-clenching moments.

This K-drama is only 4 episodes long and perfect for a short binge. All episodes are out on Disney+.

The sequel, Soundtrack #2, is also available!
