Jirisan Korean Drama: Embark On Missions With The Haidong Branch Park Rangers to Save Lives

Jirisan was inspired by the perilous search and rescue missions that the Jiri Mountain National Park rangers go through. Unlike your typical romantic K-Dramas, Jirisan is a thrilling show that gets you to the edge of your seat!

A Place I Can’t Break Away From After That Day

Despite the life-threatening weather events, Jiri Mountain National Park rangers risk their lives to save trapped hikers.

If you didn’t know, Jirisan is an actual mountain in South Korea, and is the second-tallest mountain in South Korea, after Jeju’s Hallasan.

In this K-Drama series, join experienced ranger, Seo Yi Kang (played by Gianna Jun), and rookie ranger, Kang Hyun Jo (played by Ju Ji-hoon) as they scale Mount Jiri in dangerous events and struggle to survive and hang off rocks in their mountaineering gear and ropes.

A Place I Can’t Climb Again After That Day

As the story progresses, dangerous mysteries and untold challenges about Mount Jiri and the destinies of Seo Yi Kang and Kang Hyun Jo are soon to be discovered as they scale the mountain.

(Also can we just point out how Gianna Jun is simply aging backwards?!)

Besides the thrilling moments in the drama, you can also look forward to moments of hilarity and bickering among Jun, Oh Jung-se and Cho Han-cheul.

Risking Lives

When hikers are caught in life-threatening storms, snow, floods, and fire disasters. Seo Yi Kang and Kang Hyun Jo do whatever it takes to search and rescue.

Thrilling K-Drama in October 2021

Jirisan is being directed by Director Lee Eung-Bok (Descendants of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Sweet Home) and written by Kim Eun-hee, who has written scripts for dramas like Kingdom and Signal.

After Kingdom, we simply can’t wait to see Gianna Jun acting again! Catch Jirisan as it is set to premiere globally and exclusively on iQiyi on October 23rd and simulcast with Korea on iQiyi International app or iQ.com worldwide.
