What’s the first thing that comes to mind during the summer? Ice cream! If there’s one thing that reminds us of Korea’s summertime, it’s definitely Melona ice cream. This ice cream bar has made its way around the world and is loved worldwide. The distinct melon flavour explodes in your mouth and is a great dessert anytime, anywhere.
Korean Bakery Tous Les Jours, pronounced Too-Leh-Joo, has launched a range of Melona flavoured items for the summer! These Tous Les Jours Melona items look super refreshing and delicious.
Real Melon in Melona (리얼 멜론 인 멜로나)
The cute melon-shaped cake is made with layers of fresh cream and Melona cream. Bits of melon are also placed in the middle of the cake to add a nice crunchy texture to the entire cake.
Melona Ice Box (얼려먹는 메로나 아이스박스)
With one layer of milk cream and one layer of Melona cream, the Melona Ice Box is best eaten after being placed in the freezer. A bite into this would be refreshing and a great way to beat the summer heat, like an icebox.
Melona In Bread (빵 속에 메로나)
You can say this bread is literally bursting with Melona flavour.
At first glance, the bread looks like nothing special. However, the inside is filled with delicious and sweet Melona cream. Paired with the chewy textured bread, we can only imagine how good this tastes!
Bring Melona Bread (올때 메로나빵)
A wordplay on the phrase 올때 메로나 (bring Melona when you come), commonly used by Koreans to ask someone to bring back something like a souvenir when they go overseas (for example).
The Polo Bun inspired bread is filled with a mix of smooth fresh cream and Melona cream.
Melona Cream Conch (메로나 크림 코르네)
The Melona cream conch is a crispy Danish pastry filled with sweet Melona custard.
From what we know, these limited-edition summer inspired items will only be available till the 30th of June. Hopefully, these will come back due to overwhelming popularity and we’ll get to try them one day. In the meantime, we’ll satisfy our Melona cravings with a Melona ice cream bar.
