Pieces Of Seoul: This Hidden Cafe in Yeonhui-dong Looks Like An Aesthetic Workspace

Yeonhui-dong has become one of our favourite neighbourhoods during our recent visits to Seoul as of late. Located right beside Yeonnam-dong, this neighbourhood retains its quietness and peacefulness while having lots of hip cafes & restaurants. One of which is Pieces Of Seoul, hidden right behind an alley in Yeonhuidong.

Aesthetic Yeonhui-dong Café

Pieces Of Seoul Interior

Previously operating in Seongsu, the cafe has made Yeonhui-dong its new home, showcasing its fabric-based works while serving coffee. Here, you’ll find the place decorated with their products, such as coasters, and blankets with designs reflecting different locations.

The products on display are for sale, and we personally feel that the coasters are great as souvenirs!

Generally, most popular cafes in Korea have adopted the crowd-favorite industrial meets modern aesthetic or a minimalistic modern cafe interior.

Pieces Of Seoul, on the other hand, gave off a furniture showroom and office workspace vibes, while retaining a certain, friendly neighbourhood cafe image. Maybe it’s because of its location, but Pieces Of Seoul felt cozy, despite its usage of metallic elements.

The cozy space has both indoor and outdoor seating with an assorted range of chairs that help bring the space together despite being so different in style.

Pieces Of Seoul Cafe Menu

The cafe has a simple menu featuring 3 espresso-based beverages, Americano (5,000won), Latte (5,500won), and Mocha (5,500won). For their espresso drinks, they use a dark roast blend of Brazil and Columbia beans that has notes of chocolate balanced out with a nice acidity.

They also have non-coffee options such as assorted teas (5,000won) and chocolate (5,500won).

For desserts, they only sell two items, madeleines (3,500won) and basque cheesecake (6,000won). During our visit, we only saw the original madeleine and chocolate madeleine on display.

There’s also filter coffee and we got to choose between a Kenya Gititu AB, a light roast coffee with notes of Grapefruit, Honey & Plum, or the Ethiopia Limu Kossa, a light-medium roast with floral notes of strawberry and lemon.

We opted for the iced version of the Ethiopia beans, which had a beautiful balance of fruity notes and aromatic cocoa.

Great Cafe For Solo Travellers

If you’re thinking of exploring the Yeonhui-dong neighbourhood, Pieces Of Seoul is a great pitstop for coffee. Because of its location, the cafe isn’t crowded on weekdays and is easy for travellers (solo or group) to find seats here.

Along with their music playlist and fabric artworks, it almost feels like you’re having coffee in a museum.
