You might have seen Korean-style cream coffees floating around your social media feeds. We think we’ve found a cafe in Hannam-dong that you can visit to get your hands on these drinks: cafe minimize!
Simple, Minimalistic Interior
The cafe is in an interesting spot – on the second floor of a corner building up a flight of hilly stairs.
It’s spacious but simply furnished with black and white seating. A large window let in plenty of natural light to make the cafe brighter!

Their speciality is dessert and coffee. Their signature item is rice pudding, in flavours like Injeolmi (9,400 won) and Oreo Chocolate Chip (9,900 won). They even have seasonal flavours like Chestnut (9,700 won)!
They also offer cheesecakes, like Black Sesame (8,900 won) and Sweet Pumpkin (8,500 won).
Another popular item is their Ice Cream Affogato. There’s the classic Vanilla Affogato (7,000 won) and Black Sesame Affogato (8,500 won); or the Matcha Rusk Ice Cream (8,500 won) for non-coffee drinkers.
Pistachio Affogato
The most popular item is the Pistachio Affogato (8,900 won). It had a base of housemade ice cream and drizzled with pistachio sauce and nuts.
The ice cream was milky and not too sweet, but enough to contrast the bitter coffee. It was basically a dessert!
We think the pistachio flavour could be more pronounced. The sauce’s taste was overpowered by the ice cream and coffee.
Black Sesame Einspanner
The Black Sesame Einspanner (7,000 won) was topped with a thick layer of black sesame cream.
The cream itself was addictive! Nutty, creamy and not too sweet plus a strong sesame flavour.
We liked the combination with the milky coffee. If you enjoy cream-based, Korean-style coffee, this drink would be up your alley.
Lychee Raspberry Ade
We also tried the Lychee Raspberry Ade (7,500 won) for a non-dairy alternative. It wasn’t very memorable, but it was refreshing and the bits of fruit added a nice texture.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have the stomach space to eat their desserts but they looked eye-catching in-store!

With their selection of indulgent coffees and cakes, minimize has a comfortable atmosphere that is perfect for a coffee break while you’re shopping in the region!
