Korea is the place for all things beauty and fashion. But if you’re clueless like me, it can feel a little overwhelming. That’s why I decided to leave it to the pros and try out three beauty experiences in Korea to help upgrade my personal style.
Here’s what I did to (hopefully) glow up from head to toe.
Private Korean Makeup Class
Korean makeup is everywhere right now, and I got to try it out at JUNGSAEMMOOL Art & Academy.
They offer 1:1 personalised makeup lessons (USD 500 for 2.5 hours) with a pro Korean makeup artist who tailors everything to your features – even little tips and tricks you’d never think of.
The brand is founded by Jung Saem Mool, one of the biggest names in Korean beauty, and all the artists at the academy have trained under her. You know you’re in good hands!
It’s a hands-on class where the makeup artist will demonstrate on half the face and you complete the other half. The artists cater to all proficiency levels so its okay if you’re a complete beginner!
I was unrecognisable after the class and I couldn’t believe I achieved the look. I learnt so many helpful tips during my session that boosted my confidence to wear makeup more often!
They also provide a detailed list of products and steps for you to take home. Their makeup artists speak English, Japanese and Chinese so communication will not be an issue.

Custom Perfume Making Workshop
They say scents hold memories, so bottle up the memory of your trip to Korea with a custom perfume class!
I attended one at meltingp, a workshop studio in Mangwon. They have a cosy space and over 100 fragrance oil options for every kind of scent lover.
My session was led by Yun, who helped pick out fragrances based on my preferences. There are 3 rounds of selection and testing before you finalise your profile so you can nail what you want!
I felt like a scientist measuring and mixing the perfume oils. The only bummer is that you need to wait for 2 weeks for the perfume to mature – but if you’re impatient, 2 days works too.
Do note that they usually do not hold classes in English, but Chinese is available. You can submit a request for English classes in advance!
Meltingp (멜팅피 퍼퓸 앤 퍼스널컬러)

172nd floor, World Cup-ro 10-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul

Personal Styling & Shopping In Seoul
I was looking forward to this activity the most! Remodelme is a personal styling and shopping service in Seoul dedicated to helping you discover your personal style.
Each session (price, price) includes a curated shopping trip to Korean brands, headed by professional stylist duo Laura and Rams. All you need to do is fill in a form with your fashion references; they’ll handle the rest!
I had a blast in my session and was very well cared for, walking away with a hefty bag of new clothes. You only pay for the items you want, and the team will adjust their options based on your preferences (even on the day itself).
Whether you’re a complete fashion noob or looking to reinvent your wardrobe, Remodelme is the perfect way to do that!
